Mortgage Companies are not the same
Until I got into this industry, I had no idea how different loan companies can be. While the general "market" helps set the interest rates, that is just the beginning. Companies can and do offer different rates. They offer different terms and requirements. So you might not qualify for a loan with one company but you do with another (even FHA, VA, etc.). Even then, the loan rate can vary between companies, even on the same type of loan because of agreements the big money investors have with the loan companies and the loan company's policies. It is a little overwhelming, to be honest.
As a NEXA Mortgage LLC loan officer, I have connections to over 200 lenders and thousands of loan programs (literally, like 9,000). This allows me to help find you the best loan for your situation. Not everyone needs a 30-year fixed loan. Not everyone has a 780 credit score. I can help get you a great loan that is as personalized as you are.
Follow These Steps
We verify your information and prepare your loan package. Documents are collected, emails are sent, tears are shed (just kidding). This is often the longest part of the process.
After all of the documents are received and confirmed by underwriting (fancy word for people who collect and confirm documents), they give us the news that you are ready to close (called CTC--clear to close--in the industry).
Sign your documents and receive your keys/loan/land/etc! You've made it!

This is the #1 question people ask, and it's a good question. The bad news is that it depends on numerous factors, including the house, your credit, your down payment, the loan program..... We have a ticker with current rates on the Loan Tools page, but this is just to give you an idea. The good news is that together, we can find you a great rate for your house and situation.

No. Just kidding :) Did you know there are some loan programs with no credit score minimum? Many others have very low requirements. Give me a call/text/email and let's talk about your situation.

The record is probaly around 8 days, but normally it takes about a month. This varies a lot based on things like getting an appraisal, survey, etc. Different loans require different documents, and some of the people we rely on to respond are not always as prompt as we might like. I guarantee that I will work hard to get it done as fast as I can so you get on with your life. No one likes to wait.
Lenders want to know that you can be trusted, so they want to verify your history by looking at your credit score.
Then they want to know you can pay the loan, so we're talking W-2s, bank statements, pay stubbs, verification of employment, and possibly tax statements. It sounds like a lot, but it isn't as bad as it seems.
